OUR VISION

To see the presence of God and the gospel of Jesus transform the city of Sydney, by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Why Citizens?

Why Sydney?

  • Citizens is the name of a Christian church located in the city-centre of Sydney, Australia. Formerly known as God in the City, we are in the process of relaunching the church under this new name. You can find out more about what this name means/represents in our Vision Film above (“Why Citizens?”).

  • Our official relaunch service will take place in February 2026 - the exact date will be announced very soon! In the meantime, we'll continue meeting as God in the City at our existing location (Plunkett St Public School - Forbes St Woolloomooloo), every Sunday morning at 10am.

  • Our leadership and core beliefs remain the same. The new name simply represents a new chapter and a fresh start for our church family. It gives clarity and focus to who we believe God has called us to be as a community, and the mission He has for us in the city.

  • From February 2026 onwards, we will holding our Sunday services every week in our new home - the Darling Quarter Theatre. It's an incredible location and we are already counting down the days till when we can gather with you there!

  • We're so glad you asked! There are so many ways that you can get involved - joining the relaunch team, keeping us in your prayers, partnering with us financially, or simply spreading the word! The best way to find out more is to fill out the form below, and one of our friendly team will be in touch.

  • Yes - Citizens is part of an international movement of churches called C3 Church Global. This movement was founded by Pastors Phil and Chris Pringle in Sydney, Australia in 1980.
